Happy and healthy New Year to all of our families, patients, and friends. I hope you enjoyed your well-deserved holiday and are ready to take on 2023 with eagerness and excitement as you make your health a priority.

This year is the year you get to claim back the quality of life you deserve. Living with chronic pain should not be part of your story. People with chronic pain have a heightened sensitivity to their environment. Every morning is a battle to get ready for the day. Every night is a fight to find sleep, and between every fight is another one. You are a warrior and can overcome this. I am here to help. Below is a list of medical services I offer to help you win your fight against chronic pain.

Arthroscopic Surgery

An arthroscopy is an operation on the knee joint via “keyhole” surgery where a camera and various instruments are inserted into the joint via a small 1cm incision (or “portal”). Arthroscopy provides an unparalleled view of the knee joint, which could not be obtained without a large, invasive incision. The small incisions minimise post-operative pain, allowing rapid return to function. It is usually a day-surgery operation.

Many different problems can be treated with the aid of arthroscopy. Some of the treatments are listed below:

  • Diagnostic arthroscopy and biopsy
  • Meniscal trimming
  • Meniscal repair
  • ACL or PCL reconstruction
  • Chondroplasty (smoothing of the articular cartilage)
  • Microfracture
  • Knee joint washout
  • Reduction of fractures of the tibial joint surface
  • Removal of loose bodies

Total Hip Replacements

Total hip replacement is a surgical procedure in which the damaged cartilage and bone are removed from the hip joint and replaced with artificial components. The hip joint is one of the body’s largest weight-bearing joints, located between the thigh bone (femur) and the pelvis (acetabulum). It is a ball and socket joint in which the head of the femur is the ball and the pelvic acetabulum forms the socket. The joint surface is covered by smooth articular cartilage which acts as a cushion and enables smooth movements of the joint.

Several diseases and conditions can cause damage to the articular cartilage. Total hip replacement surgery is an option to relieve severe arthritis pain that limits your daily activities.

Total Knee Replacements

Total knee replacement, also called total knee arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure in which the worn-out or damaged surfaces of the knee joint are removed and replaced with artificial parts. The knee is made up of the femur (thigh bone), the tibia (shin bone), and the patella (kneecap). The meniscus, the soft cartilage between the femur and tibia, serves as a cushion and helps absorb shock during motion.

Arthritis (inflammation of the joints), injury, or other diseases of the joint can damage this protective layer of cartilage, causing extreme pain and difficulty in performing daily activities. Surgery may be recommended if non-surgical treatment options have failed to relieve the symptoms.

Revision & Complex Revision Arthroplasty

Revision replacement is a complex surgical procedure in which all or part of a previously implanted hip/knee joint is replaced with a new artificial joint.

Some of the treatments are listed below:

  • Total femur & humerus replacements
  • Treatment of Infected Hip and Knee Replacements
  • Treatment of Peri-prosthetic Fractures
  • Treatment of Chronic Osteomyelitis
